    Where to find short contracts?

    Hi

I gather that it is possible to find really short contracts, a day or two producing documentation or other such things. Does anyone know where you look for such contracts?

    Thanks

Go direct - start letting other businesses who might be interested in your services know what you have to offer. This will involve cold calling or sending out brochures, but it's what 'real' businesses do.

It's not worth an agency's time and effort to find people for 1-2 day contracts.

Short contracts (ie less than a month) can cover:

      Sickness
      Holidays
      Missing/tight project deadlines

I would go for the direct approach and also traditional "temping" agencies that supply admin types for this kind of thing.

Any particular reason you want such short pieces of work?

I'm working on a project that doesn't really require me full time yet due to delays (although they're paying me full time). My contract states that if there's no work for me, they don't have to pay me (which they haven't invoked because I'm guessing the client hasn't seen that as my contract is with the Agency).

Was considering offering to work for them part time for now until the project is in full swing and maybe do something else the other days of the week if that's possible, to help with being definitely outside IR35.

Plus at some point I think they will want me to work 4 days on 4 days off shifts. Would be good to be able to do something for a couple of my 4 days off.
