    How long to wait/start applying

Hi - just looking at a load of contracts and many of them are an immediate start - just wondering what the normal sort of time frame is between applying to a contract and actually starting. And - is there no real point in looking a month in advance? Is it more like 2 weeks or maybe 1 week?

I know there's no yes/no answer to this - just wondered what the average times were?

    Cheers.

I've got 6 weeks or so left on my current gig and I'm beginning to look - applied for a couple but I get the feeling I am a bit too early to be honest.

I have 8 weeks, but don't like the gig, so am looking now, I have a two week notice....

I'd normally start looking when I have 4 weeks left.
