What are the hot areas of industries at the moment?

I was talking to a friend and he said that the area of Investment Banking is a hot one and that generally it is good to work in a bank for your CV (and it gives more money), he prefers it from an IT company.

What do you all think?

Investment banking's a bit old hat. Their best talent went to the hedge funds 5-10 years ago, and even hedge funds are old hat now.
