I have an immediate requirement for a skilled C++ Developer to directly replace a contractor placed via Orgtel who is moving across internally. This is the role in his words: I work on credit derivatives desk, quants write all the models and PnL calculation in C++. This calculation is then used by various applications (written in C++, C#, Java, even VB). My role is to write interfaces so that other applications can use the methods written by the Quants. Also the methods should appear in Excel, that is the main interface I've been working on. Data is shared between applications as XML chunks. I'm currently doing quite a large rewrite on their engine, which should very much make quants development easier and also brings new opportunities for interfaces. So the new person should have good ideas on how to interface the core quants engine with other applications. They will interview immediately. This is an excellent role on a 6 month renewable basis, on-going.
I could do that. Except I don't have the slightest idea what a "quant" is and have no interest in learning. So I'd never get it.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

Quant = Quantative Analyst. They analyse and write the complex maths stuff in investment banks.

I always get mail shots advertising jobs for Delphi Developers. One day I thought, why is that? I've been a System Admin / Support Type for over 7 years, I'm not a developer. Well it turns out, it was because I had 'Pascal' in my CVs key skills section...

I know it was late, but resorting to trig jokes? Surely that's beneath this forum.
