Brain death is definitely more likely to occur first than the end of this contract. Am sure a well-trained monkey could do this...ahh well 10 more months of billing here we come.

Sometimes depends what your last contact was like - if it was a barsteward, it's nice to have an easy one for a while - but two like that in a row can be a nightmare.
Take up more hobbies and post abuse on here sounds good!!Comment

Have a look at anything else you could be doing that might be useful.
I've installed a database on my laptop here, and have a few other things to keep me entertained when I'm not posting here - picking up new skills while still doing my project work.Comment

Me too
I'm in the same boat too. Few weeks into a 3 month contract and expecting to do VB6 and VB.Net development role but turns out its VBScript only.
No technical challenge what-so-ever.
Plus there's no real work yet - it's all backed up with the analysts so I'm twiddling my thumbs waiting for something to do.
Yes it's local, the people are nice but 3 more months of VBScript?
The rate is not great either but that's secondary here.
Basically, and yes it's partly my fault, but I was sold a role that was way below my technical ability and experience, with an agency keen to put anyone into the job regardless of suitability for all concerned.
Your time on this earth is limited, so look at the finances, look at the market and consider do you really want to spend 10 months doing something you hate - it will affect your life in many negative ways.
Start your search, give notice and find something you enjoy.
That's what I'm doing.Comment

Would you take it easy for 10 months and keep a low profile or would you try find something slightly more challenging?Comment
