    What would you do

You have started a contract that runs 10 months. It's close to home, good rate and you can do the work in your sleep. However in the first week you realise that it's not challenging at all, the role is smaller than initially described and you will probably spend more time posting on this site than anything else. Would you take it easy for 10 months and keep a low profile or would you try find something slightly more challenging?

I'd see the contract through and use the spare time for business development. (i.e. keep skills up to date or learn new ones)

    Cheers

            Only you can answer that.

I'm in a similar situation but after several years of commuting 2+ hours a day I'm enjoying the extra time at home.

I'm in the same boat. It's bloody terrible (really). Only staying-on as my off-shore counterpart is away for a bit. Then it's CV-sending, Agent-dealing time again pour moi.

                We could form a club.

I'm in the same boat, I've got 3 months left but I pretty much know it will be renewed for another 3 months.

What will come first, the end of the contract or brain death?

Plus I work with a right drama queen, who is well out of his depth.
The job was actually easier when he was on holiday!

Yes. Plus polish up skills, work on company website/Plan B/post regularly in tech forums (with said website address) etc etc. Enjoy the good time while it lasts.

I'm doing the Oracle DBA equivalent of kitchen portering, right now. Was doing lots of luvverly techy stuff, until about 6 weeks ago.

I'm studying a few Oracle thingies at home, morning & night, to get more £££ next gig. Doing sweet FA at work makes it easier for my brain come study time. So, not too bad, I suppose.
