If the client is offering 2%, wouldn't that be applied to the amount the client pays i.e. including the agents cut. So their margin would automatically get an extra 2%. Play hard ball and tell them you want the full 6 quid. Or play harder and tell them you want £7.50 or you'll walk. Afterall, their 'hard work' ended once that job was posted on jobserve. They have not done anything to secure your extension, so why should they get their full amount?

Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

If you 've done a good job, play hard ball and go for 10%.
If you're on a "permie replacement" bi*chslap the pimp to cut their hard-earned margin. And go for 10%.
