    Insurance

Just had signt of a neew contract and they are asking for:

    Employers Liability
    Professional Indemnity
    Public Liability

Where is the best place to get this ?
How much does it cost ?
And what amounts do I need insurnace for ?

    I'm currently doing 2 gigs

1 a BA which didn't ask for anything
2 a PT programme planning role for which they are

the PT role is only about 50 hours over 2 months.

Thanks for any responses late on a Friday !!!

Well, if you're limited then (in my opinion) you need the first two anyway no matter what you do. The PI insurance is usually specced in the contract including an amount. PCG do a package and so do Caunce O'Hara (on this site). If you're limited, it does no harm to have the legal cover (IR35) too.

Expect to pay about £500 for all these.

PS. Just cos they didn't ask for anything doesn't mean they won't consider kicking your arse if you mess up. So the PI cover is a given in my book.

If you look at the navigation bar on the right you will see a link to "insurance".

One man band limited companies do not need employer liability insurance, but that is the cheap one so you might as well get it. The one that costs is the Professional Indemnity insurance depending on the amount of cover required.

Based on my annual fees in the £100,000 to £150,000 bracket and Professional Indemnity cover for £1,000,000 I end up paying £733 through CoH. That includes the cover mentioned above and legal fees, and probably a load of other stuff. None of which I think I will ever need to claim against.
