Just landed in UK, some questions?

    Hi All,

In London from overseas and ready to start working. So far have only been applying through jobserve. Is it worth going and meeting the actual recruitement agents?

    No

you don't need to be nice to them or for them to like you - they are interested in their cut of your daily rate.

They will work hard to place you even if you tell them where to go
Si posse, recte, si non, quocumque modo rem

So just keep plugging away on sites like jobserve and hope for the best? ATM im appling for jobs and then ringing them after my resume has been sent.

Best pop down to the local boozer (Earls Court?) introduce yourself to the landlord and enquire direct for bar jobs.

What you are doing sounds about right. You just need to be patient as sometimes it can take time for momemtum to build.

Dont bother trying to meet an agent, in fields like accountancy this is needed, but the IT pimps are a different breed.
