    Rate Check: MSSQL

    Hello All,

On JobServe, and CWJobs, the rates seems to fluctuate wildly for MSSQL dba/dev positions in London - can anyone shed some light on the actual expected rate (not what the agents post to get CV's)?

    10 years experience with MSSQL 6.5 - 2005
    3 years C#/.net
    6 years VB
2 years banking (not front of office)

    Thanks, I appreciate any replies.

For better rates forget the DBA and go with the C#.

If you want the big bucks, embellish your banking skills and go for the C#.

SomeoneElse, I think Lockhouse is correct that you should go down the C# banking route to get the bast rate. You seem to be a fairly experienced developer. Realistically you should be able to achieve £450 to £550 per day depending upon experience in City/Canary Wharf. Front office roles will usually pay the most with rates of £500 upwards. Rates will go up to £600+ if you're very good with strong business knowledge.

Thanks for the replies all. Looks like C# it is then.
