I am planning to move into contracting from September and just wondered which Umbrella agency you seasoned professional contractors would recommend? I have been reading the forums and checking out a couple of sites, but am now so confused as their are about 10 or so agencies that keep coming up, so how do I compare them to make an informed decision about this?

I'm relatively new and looked into it as well, and a Ltd Co. was much the best option unless you're only planning to contract for a few months. (Sorry, that doesn't help with Umbrella choice, but my colleagues who use different umbrellas seem to be happy with Parasol and unhappy with Giant).Originally posted by NQuinnI am planning to move into contracting from September and just wondered which Umbrella agency you seasoned professional contractors would recommend? If you intend to freelance for any length of time, get yourself your own limited company and a good accountant. I use SJD and they are very good. If you decide that umbrella is best then you could try Contractor Umbrella. They are part of the SJD Group.Rule #76: No excuses. Play like a champion.Comment

Grateful
Thanks for your advice.
I have read some of the previous posts relating to the same question and found that the responses veered off a little in the wrong direction as everyone was trying to get their 5p worth in.
I got the distinct impression that those responding forget that they too were at one time oblivious to the workings of the contract world!Comment
