    Oracle Contract market

    Hi All,
Any Oracle Contractors out there looking for work? I've been looking for a role for 4 or 5 weeks and been a bit surprised by the apparently large amount of roles being posted on the job boards but lack of feedback on any of the roles I'm applying for. Are things typically slow at this time of year?

    Cheers,

    Mike

The market usually peaks in October and April periods.
We are entering the Holiday season. Well I hope that's the reason and not a downturn !

I don't know the Oracle market though I'm Unix Admin which is very strong in London and patchy everywhere else. Rates are holding up though.
    Cheers

I've had the usual calls from agencies but they mainly seem to fishing for info/leads etc...

The lack of feedback from agents about roles you've applied for is not unusual...I've dealt with a number of agents over the years and stay in contact with those I have established a rapport with...this helps to get some feedback from them (in my experience)...if you can speak to the agent and have a good chat beyond the usual this is what I'm doing now/I'm under contract until [insert date here] then they may be a bit more above board and honest with you...

Of course, being agents, how much can you really trust what they are saying?
