Help required to find short term contract..

Hello

I am about to take a perm role in July and am looking for a contract role for 1 month - does anyone have any ideas as to which agencies would have roles of this nature? I am a mgt consultant and business coach, specialising in PMO work, project, programme and change management.

Any input greatly appreciated.

Best of luck for that short of a request. The smallest would be 3 months.

Send me your cv and I'll have a look. Programme managers around the south can get between 350 and 500 per day. Change Managers can get around 250 to 350 a day.

It really depends on your skill set as there may be other contracts you can look at. I have been doing contracting for 10 years and I have been in IT for just over 26 years.

Don't give up hope.

Ive taken the permie route after 14 years in contracting. My feeling is that agencies are no longer reliable enough to provide me with enough work to justify the overheads of contracting. (You must calculate the benefits of a perm position - holidays - training - sick time if you need it - career progression within the business etc against the costs of downtime - accountancy fees - administration costs - self-training etc) I should include the time you spend responding to agency postings and chasing up your CV etc. Try charging this at your standard rate to give yourself an idea of just how these agencies are really costing you.

I was easily able to secure a permanent position for myself as I have done with all my contracts previously. (In all my time contracting no agent has ever found me a contract - I sourced them all through networking and my good reputation.) I have however given business to agencies since the policy of my clients has been to use agencies.

Have another look at the permie options. If you are contractor material then you will surely move quickly upward within the business.
