    Situation I am in..

    hi all,

I used to contract a couple of years ago, but am about to go back into it again.. I'm in a bit of a situation where i could do with some advice..

I have been offered 2 support contracts, done the interviews, got the offers on the table etc...

Contract Number 1 - Working for big public sector project, but I have worked there recently and the culture/environment isn't for me, so much so that I really dont like going to work there..

Contract Number 2 - Pays 3 quid less an hour than contract 1, but it at a place I have worked before and have enjoyed working in..

which do i choose, cos i'm going crazy,, their both 6 months long and i can't decice whats more important, the money or my sanity

    any help would be great

    thanks,

    Jon

a no brainer - take the one paying paying 3 quid an hour less.

Number 2 of course would be my opinion for the sake of £3 an hr, thats nothing.

See if you can negotiate them both into working from home. Then accept both.
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

Assuming you're working a standard 37 hr week, £3/hr less adds up to roughly £444 lost earnings in any given 4 week period. Looking at it from that angle might help in the decision making process

Don't be unhappy, it's not worth it. But if you are going for the money, may as well try to negotiate the other one up before you turn it down.

Advise the second one that you have been offered a higher rate elsewhere but will go with them if they can match the rate, if they say no, take the first one.
3 notes an hour in support is a lot.

Defaintely worth enjoying what you do for a few quid less, than being paid not so much more and hating it. Unless you are on a 5'er an hour...its a no brainer
