    promoting the web site.

Where do we register/promote our web sites as a start, i.e not doing commercial advertising. I have this in mind:

    register with search engines.
reference at online networks such as linkedin.
search for specialized biz directories online.
add links to the web site when in the CV so that agents see it.
search for open-relays and use for mass-mailing

register with search engines - google ads could work here given the right tweaking.

reference at online networks such as linkedin - dependent on what your skills are I find these networks limited and full of mutual appreciation societies.

search for specialized biz directories online - some of these are crap and overpriced. I think you'd have a job sorting the wheat from the chaff.

add links to the web site when in the CV so that agents see it - pimps couldn't give a feck about your website.

search for open-relays and use for mass-mailing - thinking outside the box - excellent!!

Whats wrong with commercial advertising? Get it in front of the right people with the right message and it will pay for itself. It's also probably not as expensive as you may think and finally, you could argue it is a pointer to being in business proper.

    Older and ...well, just older!!

To submit to Google get a Google sitemap:

      https://www.google.com/webmasters/to.../en/about.html

      Sumit to directories like Craigslist:

      http://london.craigslist.org/

      Submit your site to directories:

      http://www.strongestlinks.com/directories.php

Another good one is to get an RSS feed and submit that - search engines pick up on RSS feeds more quickly than links to directories:

      http://www.masternewmedia.org/rss/top55/

Do you just want some exposure or do you want lots of website traffic and high search engine rankings?

I do a lot of marketing and SEO PM me if you want more info
