    SThree doing well !!

I'm sure everyone here will be so pleased to know that SThree are top of the Footsie gainers this morning, up over 4% so far.

    1 week 435.00p +0.75p +0.17%
    1 month 373.00p +62.75p +16.82%
    3 months 379.50p +56.25p +14.82%
    6 months 330.00p +105.75p +32.05%
    1 year 277.50p +158.25p +57.03%

Maybe I'll have me some of them shares.

Their year-end results are due. It probably means that someone has got early access to the figures. Somehow...

Much as I whinge about them, I must admit I would like to have had a few % of their stock when they went public. Perhaps I should beat the rush and invest in Dodgy's company instead?
I'm not so think as you drunk I am...

Too bloody right, they are supposed to be worth just shy of 500 million now, apparantly they started as a two man band about 20 years ago!!

            Interesting posts.

At the end of the day they are a business just like all of us! To remain in business 20 years they must be doing something right!! I agree with the general comments about the way they treat us but curious to know what are they doing right, who is dealing with them and keeping them in business!! :-)

I used to work as a permie manager at a firm which used one or two EB's in the SThree group on rare occasions.

At the client end you only see the EB's brand, the fact that they're interested in the business (because they call up on a regular basis looking for work) and they put forward reasonable candidates when asked. The multiple name thing works well for them because it's tricky for most 'occasional' clients to distinguish between EB's because they rarely use them. Most are unaware that apparently competing EB's may actually be the same firm. I didn't know until I became a contractor. All you're really looking at is the candidate and their price.

The client is (at least to start with) also completely unaware of how they treat contractors, what reputation they have with contractors and how much margin they take. There are so many EB's out there that some big corporates are starting to go with exclusive (fixed margin) deals with a small number of the larger or specialist EB's. Which is why those left out of these arrangements go for clients who only use contractors occasionally such as charities, local authorities, medium sized businesses and the like.

              In my opinion.

Just announced - SThree came 24 in the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to work for

They are obviously good to their staff.

Maybe it was coming up to commission time when they handed the voting forms out. I worked for a company trying for an award and they did pretty much the same thing.
