If the Conservatives win a majority then I fully expect the rules to be changed in the first budget. So I would hold off worrying about it until after we find out the result.

It's not about the liability, it's about the costs of arguing about it.

It's highly unlikely you'll get tax protection if there is any doubt about how likely it is to be used. That's the case now, it will be even more so after April.

After April, assuming the changes happen, it will no longer be down to the contractor to determine the status. No amount of insurance will help with that.
If the determination is wrong the client pays.
And no insurance company offers a product that will help the contractor in that situation.
