    Same day contract review (commercials)

Is anyone to recommend a company that can review a contract same day, especially the commercial side? (nothing too OTT, I just want a pair of eyes that can spot terms that are particularly unfavourable so I can get them amended out before I sign)

The context is that I've got a very urgent contract come up and it's looking possible that I'll be presented with a written contract tomorrow with an intention of a Monday start.

I'm usually covered by B&C but they won't be able to do it this fast enough.
My accountant can help with IR35 reviews but is unlikely to cover the commercial side at all (B&C do, at least as far as any obvious howlers).
Something about the deal feels a little off so I'm keen to do more than just look at IR35.

I've had a word with QDOS and they aren't able to help with contracts beyond IR35 reviews, irrespective of the service level (that and their same day service requires receipt of the documents by 12 noon and I can't be sure whether that will be possible or not).

There is nothing you can do until you have an actual contract in hand that can then be reviewed.
Do you not feel comfortable going over the document yourself ?

my contracts go to QDOS for IR35 review, but i look over the T&C's myself.

You could name the agency here so that others could respond if they are with the same agency.
or have had good/bad experiences of that agencies contracts in the past.

the general advice is going to be don't start until you are happy with the contract.
And this is very good and solid advice.

I used to be happy that I could cover the commercials myself, but then when I missed some personal liability clauses despite carefully reading over the contract myself (B&C picked this up on my behalf) I lost quite a bit of confidence in my ability to fully understand some of the more obtuse legalese, as that's what fooled me on that occasion.

Thanks for the suggestion but this contract didn't happen in the end anyway, no idea why as I'm just not getting my calls or messages answered today (it's been like this more than usual lately), but i'd still be interested in same day contract review suggestions for 'next time'.

Totally agree with only starting when a contract is agreed as I'm well aware that you implicitly accept whatever their terms are if you turn up without anything signed.
