      In my experience, the agents who deal with contract are a different internal group to the ones who do permanent. And they don't give a toss about each other.

      What sometimes happens is clients are on some overall drive to turn contractors into permie. They therefore might want the agent to judge how amenable each candidate might be to such an approach down the line.
