Your main misunderstanding seems to be around IR35. In the private sector, whether IR35 applies or not is not the agent's decision.

In terms of holiday, the usual form is to say to your client contact "I'm planning on being unavailable between x and y if that fits in with the project deliverables?" Put it on their calendar - fine. Fill out a leave request - no.Comment
