Moving money abroad - Transferwise / Oanda etc

I ve used transferwise and its not bad.

Nice front end, good rates, but fees a little more then they should be

Has anyone used Oanda Fxcm or one of the other brokers?

If we were transferring 1000 or ten thousand or even a hundred grand from gbp to usd or gbp to eur which one would you choose?

Revolut is a good option for small-ish amounts
    https://www.revolut.com/faq#are-there-any-charges

"Currency exchange transactions (Currency exchange and cross-currency card purchases, withdrawals, and bank transfers)
Live market rate* with no fees, up to £5,000/ €6,000/ Fr6,000/ 20,000zl (or currency equivalent) per month. A 0.5% fee applies thereafter**"

Buy property round the US embassy, get paid in US dollars. Struggled for a long time to find a solution for my big sis who is the CEO of a large company there.

Transferwise comes out trumps on top of Oanda and FXCM even on large figures...

So I ll stick with that - Hope it helps future people

Not sure where the fees being a little more than they should be comes from. Been using Transferwise for about 4 years now and always found them cheaper than any other 'reputable' brokerage. Transferwise for me everytime.
