When I had my daughter, I chose to be a “working parent”. I choose to teach her self reliance, independence and that marriage is a partnership - not a meal ticket. I am proud to earn my living and not leeching off my husband using my daughter as an excuse.

The problem with this country is people like YOU. If you have nothing to contribute, may be you should just keep quiet.
    Millennial?

The interesting thing is you specifically mention 'not leeching' and yet you're probably claiming childcare benefits from people like me who pay their taxes! Laughable.

Your children are only young for a small part of your life.

If I had a choice I would adjust my lifestyle accordingly and spend all the time I could with them rather than sit in an office.

Is money really more important than missing those first few steps / words?

My childcare vouchers come from my salary. The tax free part comes from the taxes my husband and I pay. Do you think just having kids makes my £450 per day totally tax free? Laughable!

It isn’t. How ever, it’s also important to provide a secure future.
Is all this coming because I’m a woman? Did you advise a man to adjust spending and stay at home to raise kids? Just asking!

I thought so. I’m deciding between option 2 and 3 now.

                  This is a Professional Forum.

Opinions on others parenting choices to go into General (where they will be savaged as appropriate).

My parents both worked full time. My sister and I turned out fine! We are very close to our parents and are incredibly proud of our mum. I’m sure there are plenty of people that had/have working mums.

Are you jealous that some people really seem to have it all?
