    Another stupid agent

Got a job requirement yesterday which included "comfortable with B spoke systems".

I can just see them ringing around asking cons "do you know B spoke".

I have noticed this type of error a lot and it's not just bad spelling or grammar. Many agents don't seem to know what certain technologies or methodologies are (hands up! I don't know many of them either) but most of them have a feeble grasp of the English language. This probably applies to many sales people regardless of industry sector. They're not good at much anything except for sprinkling out the bulltulipe. I'm not currently contracting as I just do work for private clients but every time I think about contracting I can't face the agents as they really put me off the whole process. I hope that some day I'll find a good one.

Try answering "I've no direct experience with B Spoke, but have experience with A spoke and C spoke - is that good enough?" and laugh quietly when he goes back to the client to ask them...

Or try E Spoke - a tailored application for the internet.

I think I’ve actually had this happen to me long, long ago.

          Typical questions:

“What version of B spoke was that?”

“In years and months, roughly how much experience of B spoke do you have?”

“I don’t see B spoke on your CV. Where did you use it? Can you edit your CV to ‘highlight’ your experience of B spoke?”
          Drivel is my speciality
