Got offered a short contract with C0al 1T - they sent through paperwork - new employee application forms & the lot (tons of employee policies). Not a contractor / B2B contract in sight. Got very upset when queried it as well. Slammed phone down on me when I turned post down!
It made Hays contracts look really IR35 friendly - and thats saying something

Beware

Just send them the Muscat -v- Cable and Wireless case study and tell them that you expect them to pay all your NI and PAYE. That should shut them up.
