Contract ended after half a day !

    Hi,

I started a contract yesterday for one month (I have an email from the agency stating its for one month).

The agency then called me during the first day to say I am only needed until the end of the week and were blaming the client for this (surprise surprise). I refused to come back to site after feeling lied to and the fact that the work was a complete disorganised mess.

In terms of small claims court, compensastion etc do I have a leg to stand on ?

I would point out that I finished the whole day and had a lengthy conversation yesterday evening explaining I would not be returning.

I dont have a contract - just an email saying its for one month.

Bill the client and agent jointly for one day and costs. If he's a good agent and finds you something else soon, forget about the bill for the first job

Contracts get shortened and extended all the time...whats the big deal? I'd say finish the week and see what happens...perhaps it will just carry on and on...
