Miura Consulting - anyone know anything?

Saw this plop into my inbox this morning and wondered if it's a scam (I guess if I have to ask, that tells me all I need to know)?

I am finding that, having spent two years in an airport, I am utterly incapable of working in any other industry and I saw this as an option to get something with all the right keywords on my CV. Working for free isn't my idea of fun but I've had two months on the bench and I'm bored!

The scam is working for free, for a consultancy, for an investment bank, whatever next.

Also, what use will it be, if you don't want to work anywhere else apart from an airport?
Bank regulatory reporting is a very specialised area.

It's for an "internship", which I understand to be unpaid work for a newly qualified graduate.

They want skilled professionals to work unpaid. I believe that this is called "APissTake".

My comment about being "utterly incapable of working in any other industry" is the general impression I am getting from agencies even though I have previously worked in a number of industries. It seems they can't look past the last gig I had and it's flippin' frustrating when I see plenty of work I can do in my sleep.

I was foolishly looking for a sensible opinion of whether this kind of this is worth pursuing just to help the hard of thinking see that I can balance a ball on my nose AND juggle.

          Here's my sensible opinion.

          It's a total piss take.

Working for free for a consultancy who can sell your skills to an investment bank under the guise that you are somehow going gain experience. Great business model if they can get it to work.

You might as well stack shelf's at your local Tesco whilst applying for real contracts. At least you'd get out of the house and get a little bit of income.

Another sensible opinion says, do not touch it with a barge pole.
This is certainly one thing, we shouldn't be encouraging, IMO.

You need to get yourself out networking.

Funnily enough if you meet the same idiot agents face-to-face during networking they offer you work, which if you phoned or sent in emails they say you couldn't do.

Miura Consulting - Developing IT Contractors in The Regulatory and MIFID II Space

                    Dear all,
This thread was just brought to my attention and so I thought I would reply to it to clear things up....
At Miura Consulting we develop IT Contractors to be Investment Banking Level Regulatory Consultants...some go onto to specialize in Trading Systems and also in MIFID II.
We have a network of over 500 consultants, have had over 300 consultants through our programmes over the last 12 months and in the region of 120 and of those have gone onto be specialists in MIFID II (we are easily the biggest supplier of skilled MIFID II Contractors to the market at present)...a lot have gone on to work in Tier 1 organisations such as Goldmans, KPMG to name but a few...
Typical contractors would complete either an 8 week or 4 week development programme and then go on to work for Miura as part of our teams developing a range of MIFID II systems or specialising in areas of MIFID II such as Best Execution Policy and reporting, doing MIFID II Client meetings, doing MIFID II Healthchecks with companies, to name but a few...
Some of this work is not paid for...our business model is new and different, and we make no apologies for that...
But our consultants are focused on developing their knowledge and experience - and these are also the consultants that are getting roles, as they are differentiating themselves, through their forward looking attitude, fresh skills, cutting edge experience....simple as that...!!
Some of the consultants also then go on to work on our consultancy engagements, which is well-paid...
Please feel free to look at the very positive reviews of our programmes on Trustpilot - https://www.trustpilot.com/review/miuraconsulting.co.uk
If you would like to find out more, please feel free to contact Prina our Head of Sales on (removed by admin)
I hope this clears things up...have a good day...!
                    Thanks
                    The Miura Team
