I have a suspicion that once a candidate moves away from FS, it becomes quite tough to get back in again... because businesses change and, for example, the thing that is all the rage nowadays is regulatory project experience in FS. Moving away means I won't be able to compete to get back in. I could be looking at this picture in completely the wrong way though and perhaps my suspicion is completely unfounded. I don't know.Originally posted by jbond007 View PostWhy do you want to be in FS only ?Comment

Lots of LOTS of CV mining going on on Jobserve too. Applied for a role today, called agent an hour later to follow up. Surprise surprise - role is now on hold. Really? Immediately after it was advertised? I don't think so, this was just an exercise in building up someone's database to show their boss they've been doing some work. Seems to be happening all the time too.Comment

I don't bother sending a CV before calling the agent to qualify the position now. "The client does not want to divulge the technology they are using until the interview stage" was a recent pimp statement.Originally posted by joy division View PostLots of LOTS of CV mining going on on Jobserve too. I thought we had already been through agents feedback? Let's see how this fits. You apply, agent tells you that you are the best etc so you don't go to another agent. He looks at your CV and it turns out you are not very suitable or he has plenty of other CVs better. He can either tell you the role is on hold, you say oh and conversation ends or... He can tell you you weren't very good and he's binned your CV. You get upset, argue the toss and demand to know why and how you can improve so wasting agents time....Originally posted by joy division View PostLots of LOTS of CV mining going on on Jobserve too. That could have happened. But I don't think it did. The role in question was one I'd seen advertised a few times before. From my conversation with the guy it is clear that they are CV mining.Originally posted by northernladuk View PostI thought we had already been through agents feedback? Let's see how this fits. You apply, agent tells you that you are the best etc so you don't go to another agent. He looks at your CV and enters it on the database. The problem is although the agent knows of the role, hes not on the PSL. He can either tell you the role is on hold, or any other BS as he now has your CV on the system. The Chunt of Chunts.Comment

The role gets advertised a few times because it keeps nearly coming on line. I've seen this with two banks in particular.Originally posted by joy division View PostThat could have happened. They are not all such great liars. The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn't existComment
