    Unskilled testers - hourly wages

Just a really simple one; how much would be fair to pay someone that has no professional testing experience for website testing?
Navigating,, typing in data, confirming everything is showing correctly both visually and from queries and all this on several different devices.

One-off or on-going? How many hours? Employed or contract? Can it all be done at home? Do you have someone in mind? Are you trying to justify as high a salary as you can, or are you wanting to keep costs down but be fair? Is it testing that a school kid could do over the summer to earn some pocket money, or is it something more substantive than that?

Doesn't seem like you've given enough detail to really answer the question....

£10 an hour. If they prove to be good (somewhat analytical - able to log issues coherently), then £15.

Do you have any professional testing experience?

If not, how much would you be willing to work for?

Are you providing the testers with a list of functions and features to test?
              Are you providing any directions?
Are you asking them to try and break things?
Are you expecting them to document their findings?
Are you providing any assistance (help if they get stuck, answers if they are unsure what to do, etc.)?
Do they have access to a user guide, manual, or faq?

As little as you possibly can?

Stop being so stingy and pay a proper tester to plan, script, execute, raise issues and retest.

Unless you get someone with actual testing experience, you're not going to get a whole lot of value from it. Testing is a profession for a reason and a good tester is worth their weight in gold.
