Client basically trimmed their list of preferred agencies and only recruits via them. There was no breach.

Update: ClientA is still serving out existing contracts with AgencyA, however they are not taking on any new contractors through this agency. Does this change my situation?

Have you got it in writing?

Get it in writing then go through the second agency.

Oh and make sure you have a lawyer's details to hand.

You probably won't need either but it's good to be prepared.

So basically I need written confirmation that ClientA and AgencyA have come to an agreement that AgencyA is no longer providing services to ClientA. I don't see any issue with getting that.

It would be nice to have yes.

In truth if you secure a role there through Agency B then the odds that Agency A will make a fuss are remote and can be squashed easily by the client. I wouldn't lose much sleep over it.

If AgencyA aren't on the PSL and can only serve contractors with extensions then they are in no position to provide you with the service required to place you with ClientCo. Use AgencyB once you have confirmed with ClientCo that AgencyA aren't on the PSL. I've rung a ClientCo in the past because I've had two agencies approach me about the same role. Both were on the PSL so it made no difference. If one wasn't then they cannot get me the job so there's no point dealing with them.
