And yes you can take the summer off and claim. As long as your ltd gives you a P45 and you tell job centre there is no work for your company. All perfectly allowable.

BUT, the law is you are looking for work and not sitting there doing nothing. They will ask you to prove this.

They wont ask you to take a job in tescos on the tills until you've been claiming for at least 3 months though. Thats the way it works - they will leave you alone to get on with it but will eventually expect you to lower your expectations.
Funny this is that I keep telling Mrs STJ that once I have paid off the mortgage and extended STJ towers as per instructions (new kitchen, garden landscaped, garage conversion, loft office etc) that is exactly what I want to do , looking at about 2-3 yrs!

for me it's not the JSA, that's the problem it's the council tax.
        My biggest outgoing by far.
I would forego JSA to avoid going to j*bcentre, but the council tax.
        That stings.

So if you claim for JSA you don't pay council tax? These benefit scroungers have got it easy in that case, get it all paid for while doing ***** all!

            yes.
When I last signed on in 2010 they paid my council tax but went through my bank statements forensically.
When I have been benched since then I havent bothered and just taken the hit.
The general grimness of interacting with the great unwashed and the state means I rather take the hit.

when you've only got enough left to cover the bus fare to the job centre - that's the time to apply for JSA
Join Big Group - don't let them get away with it

An unusual post, I get the impression most CUK posters have a massive "warchest" and this is the time now to pile in with
"shut your mouth and look at my wad/warchest"

Unfortunately, council tax benefit is means tested. How much is your council tax then?
