    Meh. That's not news. The payment was made exactly the same way as all the previous ones. I don't think any of those came with a fanfare and town criers announcing the transaction.

          Instead of paying £1bn for the EU bill just think what Boris COULD have done with it instead?

          Paid someone who is married to an MP £1bn to not deliver a box of rubber gloves or something.
