    3. The youth unemployment ratio is a more accurate measure.

It's quite clear that Brexiters, sad fookers as they seem to be, seem to be more interested in EU failure , now that they've realised Brexit is going to be a disaster.
Thick fookers the lot of you
Compare the 2007 and 2016 figures for Italy, Greece, Spain, France, Portugal.

      Linky

This table suggests we aren't at the bottom.

Indeed the global economic crisis sparked by sub-prime mortgages in the US that started in 2007 seems to have hit them hard.
Although I wonder how much the UK's better employment rates simply reflect our abysmal productivity.

'Worst decade for UK productivity since Napoleon'

Basically more people in work doing less.
        Hard Brexit now!

Not everyone has to find their inspiration the same way as you!

Anyway, how come you're taking the mick out of AEP when he appears to be singing from the same hymn sheet as you?

I've always liked AEP, whether I agree with him or not. He offers interesting insights. He is faintly ridiculous though.

And exactly how do you measure that?

Especially given we are mainly a service and tech country......

That ridiculous comparison confirms that a productivity measure based on GDP is completely spurious and absurd.

Does productivity consider quality or just quantity?

Unemployment in Spain isn't actually as high as the official figures suggest as many companies use temporary or casual labour, which still count as unemployed, i.e. you can't compare Spain to the UK. In the UK they would be "employed" on zero hours contracts. In any case if a young Spaniard really wants a job he can easily get one else where in the EU. If Spain introduced the same reforms you've seen in Germany or the UK their unemployment would drop like a stone.
                      I'm alright Jack
