Tulip accountant - sign up to Govt Gateway and keep tabs?

I've read through the gumph on the Govt Gateway website and as usual it is made as difficult as possible to ask a cohesive and targetted question, so I am hoping that others on here may have trodden the same path previously and can help instead.

My accountant (active on this forum, names themselves similarly to that thing made of bounded paper that one reads from for pleasure) has had a lot of previous with me in recent months whereby I've noticed problems with figures and registration for taxes before they have, and I've had to get in touch and let them know in order to be sure in myself that I won't get a mystic fine through the post (yes I am an unhappy client and I shall be presenting chapter and verse at the end of their first year when I intend to have a face to face which will decide if they get renewed).

In the latest of a longer line of mistakes than I'd like, I've received a letter from HMRC whereby they've tried and failed to register themselves as my Agent for my personal self-assessment because they've not bothered to/forgotten to complete half of the form. (Incidentally and as you would reasonably expect they charge separately for this service, but I haven't instructed them and they haven't asked me if I'd like them to do my SA! But ultimately the activation code is posted to my trading address so I ultimately retain the power to decline).

Fair play to the HMRC agent that enclosed a compliments slip that read "You have enclosed absolutely no details to identify your Tax Agent - not even their name..."

It's made me wonder what else they've been up to (yes I have asked) and I'd like to have a view of it on Govt gateway. Little things like how they answered the PSC question on the P35, for example.

The question is thus: If I sign up all the services to a Govt Gateway account of my own, will it boot my Tax Agent off so they can't submit on my behalf anymore?

Update: Yes, I've spoken to the accountant about particular issues. Yes, I am more of a telephone/in person rather than rant-by-email-type, yes I will almost certainly give them the bullet... but I'm very hands-on and I'd like to...watch... for a bit :-)

If you are that worried about your accountant, I'd ditch them now rather than checking what they are doing and then discussing it when it's too late.

Failing that, you could discuss it with them now, of course.
