Final Payment for 2012/13 Tax Year

Did my final payment on the 15th for PAYE, still not showing in my account. Checked references etc and all OK, money gone from bank account. Have e-mails and print outs to prove this.

Phoned HMRC most of the computer systems are down....do we think RTI have broken them?

What do the masses think, keep trying to get through to HMRC to chase it down (told this could take a month at present) or just wait for the nasty letters to start flying from Hector if it doesn't show up.

Given that my last nill submission also got lost, even though again I had print outs to prove that it was sent on time and e-mails confirming submission I'm half expecting them to kick open the door and drag me away to the dungeons now

I had this a few times with my quarterly PAYE payments. HMRC do lag behind sometimes, in which case I just let the brown envelope arrive and then phone/email them to rectify. They got there in the end, I didn’t sweat it.

I do wonder how things will fare under RTI ‘though. Will be interesting to see how well HMRC sync up monthly submissions and quarterly payments. Oh, and I spotted – buried in Employer Bulletin 44 – that this year HMRC want you to change payments back from Shipley to Cumbernauld. That could’ve been an easy miss – creating a bit more confusion no doubt. Oh well, just roll with it – at least we can’t be penalty’d for the first year.
    "My God, it's huge!!"
