Thanks. Let me handle one at a time

    PAYE 1st:

Has anyone here used quickbooks? for PAYE or otherwise?
Has anybody here used www.thepayrollsite.co.uk before, for outsourcing the PAYE?

Pretty sure that the guys recommended above will do the whole lot, PAYE included, for under £100 per month. Don't complicate it anymore than you have to by using different companies for different things.

        Thanks Pondlife.

I will not try to complicate unnecessarily. Just trying to explore all the options before deciding. I may go for one of the recommended accountants.

Also need to think about how we can break from the current accountant amicably, as we gave him all the authority to deal with CH, hmrc etc. on our behalf.

          (c) If ((a*b) > £100), why are you even asking the question? Get the accountant to do it all.
Exactly, in the grand scheme of things, a grand or so for co. accounts and a couple of hundred for the personal tax return is not much compared to an income of over £100,00 - surely!?!
Not worth the risk doing it yourself ...

Thanks for the reply and I agree with you fully. This is the approach I took for the past 2 years. We gave our accountant full authority to deal with companies house, inland revenue and PAYE. We also let hime be our agent for filing our personal income tax returns.

But even after paying for the accountant, we end up with still spending the same amount of time and effort, correcting his mistakes in the final accounts etc. (I am sure you have read my other posts in this thread above.) Hence we think of taking full responsibility for at least some of these issues, rather than be totally dependent on the accountant.

Please dont think I am against employing an accountant for the co. I am still open to move to another accountant and let him do the job for us. But I need to know, what is good value and what is not, from you all, just to prevent us (other readers in this forum) from being ripped off.

Hope you understand. I welcome your comments / suggestions again.

            Regards,
            Ganesh
Err, change your accountant. It's not that hard to do ... The new one will need to write to the current ones ... you give them all the paperwork and that's it ...

PAYE is easy to operate yourself. Ask for a new employers pack from HMRC and all you need is in it to do it (paperwork, schedules, CDROM and help books). Takes about 10 minutes a month to do it as well.

The software to do it will only cost you time, money and heartache (Sage instant payroll moreso than others). Same as paying £50/month for someone else to do it.

Why do you need to break amicably - it's a business relationship for goodness' sake!

I see you're from India - so am I - get a bit more assertive mate! And, stop penny pinching ...

I will try to ask hmrc today, if not, tomorrow for this pack.
