Looking for perm roles and getting one are not the same. You may find after 4 - 6 months that your contract is extended or that you get another contract in which case you could regret not using a Ltd.

A ltd also gives you the cashflow benefit of later tax payment which might be worth factoring in during the decades of austerity that we have been promised.

Cheers, will get in touch with Lisa. I'm Edinburgh based and new contract is in London so will be looking to offset travel and acccomodation so Ltd might be the direction to head in

Uh huh. And how much did the person who recommended you get paid?

And how much tax have you paid to HMRC (not the same as fees to the provider)?

If you want a better retention then you could always go with this lot

They got £250, my weekly tax deductions are based on minimum wage. I'm aware that this participating in this scheme is a disaster waiting to happen and I joined through blind ignorance as it was recommended by a friend, there was no admin hassles and it was only intended to be short term. Now I'm having to continue as a contractor I'm looking for a viable alternative to mitigate the potential for any retrospective action I might suffer, if that does happen there's nothing I can do about it now, can only seek a legitamite avenue for the future.

I have been called many things in my time, but an umbrella, reputable or otherwise, is definitely not one of them!
