Very true, as I think we've established that waving cheerio to Bedouin would be the smart thing to do is there any recommendations on a reputable umbrella who's weekly/monthly fees aren't too high? Next contract is 4 - 6 months and would then be looking for perm roles but taking contract work in the interim so ideally wanted to avoid the creation of a Ltd.

Looking for perm roles and getting one are not the same. You may find after 4 - 6 months that your contract is extended or that you get another contract in which case you could regret not using a Ltd.

A ltd also gives you the cashflow benefit of later tax payment which might be worth factoring in during the decades of austerity that we have been promised.

They got £250, my weekly tax deductions are based on minimum wage. I'm aware that this participating in this scheme is a disaster waiting to happen and I joined through blind ignorance as it was recommended by a friend, there was no admin hassles and it was only intended to be short term. Now I'm having to continue as a contractor I'm looking for a viable alternative to mitigate the potential for any retrospective action I might suffer, if that does happen there's nothing I can do about it now, can only seek a legitamite avenue for the future.
