    Paying childcare via company

    Hi,
I am wondering about paying childcare via my ltd company to get the tax benefits. My bill is around 170 per month so is within my allowance.

Can I just be invoiced to my company and pay from the company account and that's it? Or do I still need to reduce the small amount I pay myself as salary as well or how does it work?

I've tried searching here but can't find anything which specifically covers that question.

    thanks

Yes I could find threads asking about paying via your ltd company but specifically i'm trying to find out about if it's required to reduce the salary payment as well or if it just goes through as an expense, I couldn't find that listed in the threads I read.

Cheers for your valuable and insightful input

Just pay direct from your company, there's no need to reduce your salary.

Does it reduce your corporation tax?

              Aye

Limit is £55 a week for basic rate taxpayers, less if you're a higher or additional rate taxpayer. Ignore dividends for band purposes in this instance. And it's per employee.

I heard that the childcare provider has to be Ofsted registered, does anyone know if that is true?

They have to be registered, it can't be a friend or relative. It could be after school clubs or go toward private school fees though.

That's something interesting you've put there Clare. After school clubs? To what age does this apply? The club has to be Offsted registered?
