Surprised already by how effective some tweets have been in getting people to reply and engage.

Does our august judge tweet, does anyone know?

Don't leave it for others - get stuck in!
He mostly tweets about football and other sports, plus the usual PR (visited a school, inaugurated a canteen...)
God forbid retrospective tax shall be discussed in broad daylight.
Those topics should be kept to dark corners of Parliament.

Sorry, I though it was Dr.Gauke, the time travelling villain, that was being asked about.

Can't say I find Twitter intuitive, probably shouldn't admit to that but hey! Replied to a tweet but can't see it amongst the other replies - is there a delay normally?

Sorry, would prefer to be productive rather than learning the twitter protocols.

There can be a slight delay. It also doesn't always refresh your view automatically.

The Twitter client is not perfect but it shouldn't take more than 15 mins to become familiar with...

HMRC have estimated that the legislation will affect 43,000 taxpayers.

I wonder how many know this is even coming.

Several thousand could be in for a very nasty surprise (brown envelope) in a few months time.

                Funny

HMRC don't seem to want to answer this.

                It's 4 weeks overdue.

It would take a huge public outcry to change a policy. We are not going to get that with tax avoidance since 99% of the country cannot relate to ‘millionaires’ trying to dodge tax (this is how we are painted by HMRC).

In my view, the only way this gets repealed is if somebody of influence is affected. This would mean digging the dirt on Royalty and Politicians. This could then be quietly swept under the rug. Bringing more attention to the changes could prove counter productive as a government u-turn would then be scrutinized.

The government were aware this was coming and conveniently have silenced the ‘snooping’ and ‘spying’ press and strangled them with new regulations to make sure none of that nasty truth stuff gets into the newspapers anymore.

True. Would be nice to have some "leaks" from HMRC. One can dream.

Regarding Users of the K2 scheme HMRC have for some users only opened SA queries into just one tax year and have missed the SA deadline for previous years. So Maybe these guys have a small liability (can pay).....not that worried.
