Been following this thread since the budget as I'm one of the lucky ones who'll be affected by this ridiculous legislation.

I notice on the NTRT joining page it says that they don't campaign for EBT schemes. Was wondering if the same applies to EFRBS schemes.
Was hoping it would be useful for anyone affected by S58.

We are only representing users of the Double Taxation Scheme, which operated between 2001 and 2008. Our members were with the following companies.

      Montpelier (previously called MTM)
      deGraaf (also known as TwentyPlus)
      Steed Solutions

Hi I was with Sanzar in 2008-2009 and I am being chased from HMRC about and EBT scheme. I left before EBT came in to play (same month) so would joining this group help me?

Was it the Sanzar Partnership scheme, which preceded their EBT scheme?

If so, then it sounds like you are affected by the retrospective legislation Section 58 and could benefit from joining NTRT.

PS. the reason I didn't include Sanzar in the list above is because
            (a) it only started in late 2007 and ran for a few months with less than 100 users (most would have had a very small tax liability)
            (b) Sanzar complicated matters by switching people from the Partnership to the EBT for the whole of tax year 2008/9

Thinking about it a bit more, you may have believed you were in the Partnership scheme which preceded the EBT but your tax return may show otherwise. From what I heard, Sanzar retrospectively switched people from the Partnership to the EBT for tax year 2008/9.

If you were really in the Partnership scheme, rather than the EBT, your tax return would show a claim for exemption under Article 3 of the UK-Isle of Man Double Taxation Treaty.

Well, I'm shutting down for Christmas now. I would just like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Peaceful and Victorious New Year. My thanks as always to DR and all at NTRT for helping us all through the year again and to MontP for keeping up and even escalating the fight. I have no doubt that without all their efforts we would be ruined by now. Have a good one everybody!
