The whole purpose of BN66 was to avoid a court hearing, which they knew they would have lost hands down. The 1987 legislation was absolutely clear and it only applied to partners.

No, their rewriting of history was designed to mislead Parliament.

With the sensative subject of some one taking their life what 'details' would you want published ?

Evidence that someone has is enough. I wouldn't imagine that DR would post something that wasn't FACT.

its one thing to say to you MP that this situation has resulted in a suicide. Its another thing to add a name and address that can be verified and say that to an MP.

WHS - not sure I would want to know the details myself, but it's dangerous mentioning it as weight to an argument, if you don't/can't back it up with facts to demonstrate it's not just gossip or supposition.

In fact it's probably counter productive - as it causes a recipient to then question everything you have said.

I believe this can be backed up with fact and name pending the family approval. Something like this isn't posted lightly. DR has been an heroic source of information.

This horrific news was provided to MP's at the Parliment meeting.

As some may know, I am in charge of the members database. I can confirm that DR's statement is true and we could prove it if need be.

However, we assured everyone privacy when they completed the survey, and that's what we intend to do.

                Regards

Fair enough. one question - the original post said suicides. How many or are you just saying its more than one?

Sorry if that sounds a bit callous - these days I tend to obsess with death and have become rather de-sensitised to it. Hey - we are all under pressure and ave our own ways of dealing with it.

As MUTS said above, evidence has already been presented to MPs (in redacted form of course).

I think one of the individual's family may read the forum so please be sensitive about this subject.

                    Thanks

I have a question for DR.

Firstly, many thanks - as always - for this really important info, however what has prompted you to post it now? Has something triggered the posting, or has it only just come into your possession?

Are you at liberty to say? I would understand if you'd rather not say.
