    End of Contract Cakes

    Allowable expense or not?

I would say Client Entertaining - allowable but not tax deductible.

End of contract cheap mouse mats with your logo on them on the other hand - allowable in full.

Wholly and exclusively in respect of the company? Dont think so.

Entertainment? Not allowed for Corp Tax purposes so might as well pay out of own pocket!
I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!

Only allowable if you put laxative in them. See HMRC-45(1)

Well, to be fair, a higher rate tax payer will do better to put in through as an Entertainment expense to avoid paying higher rate dividend tax on the supply of said logo-embossed cake.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Greg@CapitalCity again.

A point which is often missed.
