I would say Facebook is comparable to apple or google than friends reunited.
Could be - personally I think they've lost a lot of trust & confidence - its now too invasive & not really private - so on the 'social' aspect I think they've lost it - once there's a suitable alternative I reckon they'll be a mass exodus - its simplicity was the key - now its a big overpowering nosey jumbled mess!

There has been a lot of press noise, but their core demograph couldn't give a tulip about privacy of photos etc (ok... don't care as MUCH as most adults who don't GET social networks)
Comparing them to Friends Reunited a very small market (and one of the first) social networks is nonsense, size-wise it just is not a comparison at all.
Facebook took the social network concept from MySpace, did it right, and are monetizing it very successfully.
Look, I'm not betting my house on Facebook, but I do think they still have plenty to come in the social networking arena.
Some of the investing "advice" on this thread is hilarious. Don't buy Facebook because the founder "doesn't care much for money"? Or "They're the next Friends Reunited"?
