    MYOB Accounting Software Replacement

I've just found out my MYOB software isn't going to work after the end of this year!

Are there any other MYOB users out there?

What software did you switch to that had all the same functionality?

Sage. Certainly the best I've used and industry standard.

      Thanks.

I am certainly leaning that way as the issue with MYOB has come about because MYOB are no longer in the UK market, so looking for a more mature and permanent player.

Does sage software get free software updates?

Is it standalone that can be used for years and years? (i don't like replacing my accounting software!)

      Which version do you use?

I assume Sage Instant Accounts is sufficient for all expenses, capital, dividends, liabilities etc etc type stuff that is required by a small business?

I use Sage Instant. There are no free updates (you can get piad updates) but not worth it as I've used the same version for the last 5 years (upgraded to newest version 12 months ago and it was painless) and it works fine. Tweak the VAT rate when it changed and bob was a new relation.

          OK that sounds fine then...

as long as it doesn't stop working like MYOB is soon to because it cannot connect to some sort of validation service.

No, you don't need a web connection to use it.

Just had a look at the online demo...

              Wow. It looks archaic.

Might take a look at quickbooks as well.
