I'd be interested to know what people thought of the current range of Online accounting packages available and if anyone has tried Crunch, Clearbooks and FreeAgent?
I've run several different companies over a period of years and used different packages depending on our business needs from Sage through to spreadsheets. As a freelancer, I was using SJD and their spreadsheet solution which worked great, but as our company has changed and there are now multiple directors, a single spreadsheet just wasn't workable.
I've been using FreeAgent for a couple of months, and although it looks flashy and I'm sure it has some strong supporters, it is riddled with bugs and produces the wrong calculates for important things like VAT! I've spoken to their support team and the problems are known but no fix dates, the answer being to post journal entries to correct them which is far from ideal. They seem to be chasing new features rather than making sure the core product does what it is supposed to do correctly.
I now find myself reconciling all the figures it creates manually to ensure they are correct, which is time consuming especially given the monthly cost.
I appreciate the other packages have free trials but I'd be interested to hear from others which are using these solutions in anger and how they compare.
