To quote the Simpsons episode that was on tonight: "This is not one of those shady pyramid schemes. Our model is the trapezoid."
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

Hi Polog40- I have been with ASMG since November 2005. I had my own limited company up to that point for 8 years, but now contract through ASMG.
No problems at all to date and everything is fine, get paid the right amount at the right time.
Ran their scheme past some independent legal/accounts people before taking the plunge, nothing jumped up as an issue.

        Asmg

I went with them over a year ago. All seems OK so far!
They have grown a lot since I joined so guess a lot of contractors are signing up.
To be fair these schemes have been running for years....

No need to justify anything to anyone. Particularly people who are rude and unfriendly.

I would really like to know how many - if any - contractors have yet been stung with back taxes & penalties for having used a supposedly "dodgy" umbrella scheme.

            Anyone?

            Anyone? .... !

So I thought I would get some background info prior to talking to them again.
I worked for ASMG/Skills Alliance several years ago and somehow stumbled on this today.

My role was to generate ASMG leads posing as a Skills Alliance recruiter. I resigned after a few weeks because I did not feel it was right to waste half an hour of somebody's time discussing a non existent contract with them.

The logic of the tax scheme seemed to stand up reasonably well and Skills Alliance did recruit at that time but only for permanent roles. I myself would not recommend them due to what I saw from the insde.

This may appear libelous/slanderous but it is a statement of facts so no apologies for that.

On a perhaps more libelous tip though, I did feel that a couple of the consultants were rather unsavoury and unpleasant to work alongside!! My personal opinion, ignore it!
