Employer NI Showing as £0 for This month......why?

Just using PAYROO to run a test of this months (month 1 2011/12) pay run and paid myself £600

This should be enough to have to pay a measly 1.47 employers NI.

Anyone know any reason why PAYROO might be showing £0 ? Is 1.47 too small?

I think it used £7225 as the NI threshhold, not £7072 as some other post mentioned.

Probably. It depends on when you paid yourself too. Don't forget the new year brings new tax thresholds.
If your company is the best place to work in, for a mere £500 p/d, you can advertise here.

It could be worth reading leaflet CA44, NI for Company Directors: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/nitables/ca44.pdf

I haven't looked at the exact numbers you posted but it could be that you're on a cumulative basis and won't start to be liable for NI until, in the current annual period, you exceed the LEL/ST/PT etc, ie:

Both the company and the director are liable for Class 1,
that is, employed-earners NICs when the director’s total
earnings reach the Lower Earnings Limit (LEL). But the
company only pays NICs if the director’s total earnings
exceed the Secondary Threshold (ST) and the director
only pays NICs if the director’s total earnings exceed the
        Primary Threshold (PT)
        from paragraph 10 of CA44.

          Hi,

Its due to Directors paying National Insurance on an accumulative basis, it should kick into play in the latter months of the payroll run.

If you go to the HMRC website you'll find more info.
