    Charitable Donations.... from your company.

    Hi All,

want to make a few donations from my company and just making sure I get it right.

Is it just an expense in my accounts?

    Is it fully deductable?

I note there is a section on the CT600.....

BUT my donation is to a US Charity!

Is this treated the same way?

    Thanks,

    #2
The charity donations are deductible against CT if it is to a recognised charity by HMRC. A payment will not be a qualifying donation if:

    >It is made subject to a condition as to repayment, or
the company or a connected person receives a benefit which exceeds the relevant value in relation to the payment
    >it is conditional on or part of an arrangement involving the charity acquiring property (other than as a gift) from the company or a connected person
    >it is made by a charity

Have a look at the following links:

HM Revenue & Customs: Section C: Gift Aid for companies
    AND

There's also a charity search to see if it is a registered charity here HM Revenue & Customs: Charities registered for SA donate
