    Company PAYE refund

I, well more specifically, my company has just received a check for £500+ as a PAYE refund.

How can this be? , not that i am ungrateful. I paid according to the pay schedule given to me by my accountant.

Not sure how I managed such a large overpayment.
Never has a man been heard to say on his death bed that he wishes he'd spent more time in the office.

Could your tax code have changed late in the year?

Could there be online filing incentives brought forward that you hadn't claimed back? Usually these would have been deducted from PAYE payments during the year, but if you continually hadn't done that then they could have built up to that amount.

Best advice would be to ask your accountant, they should be able to explain it easily.

Check the schedule, when this sometimes happens with our clients it is usually due to a duplicated payment made in error, if you have had your year-end since the payment was made, then your accountant should have picked this up.
