but as mentioned agencies dont give a if theres commision to be made
One of their 'trainees' rang me after seeing my CV on a job board....said I was a perfect fit for the role. Then went and checked with his boss who seems to bear a grudge and he kyboshed it......bunch of w*****rs...

And they advertised it under their parent company who took them over and so I thought it was a completely different agency.

That is true to an extent, cojak, but as we have discussed before, there is a contractor blacklist (and greylist, but that's a different story).

As we know, I previously contracted for the Dutch Antilles shell company that manages the lists on behalf of a consortium of agencies. If the OP would like to send me £100, I can use my 'back door' and ensure that his name is not on the list.

so what did you do for them to hold a grudge?

As others have said, agents would sell their granny if they knew it would make them money!

Why would you blacklist an agent that might actually delivery you a role just on the basis of one poster with no detail as to what his personal circumstance? No disrespect to the OP but he has a 10 page CV so certainly works a little differently than I do.

As cut throat as an agent is to get his wedge I would be just at cut throat to use them to get a role blacklist or no blacklist.

Because you've caused them problems or cost them money?

I've had a quick look through your previous threads. You seem to have an unusually high number of problems with agents and contracts. Are you sure contracting is right for you?

Neither actually. Because they mis-sold a role that resulted in me going through three interviews (1 Tel, 2 Face to Face) only to then find they put someone else forward from the same agency and I got passed over. So they wasted my time, not the other way.

And no, not all those problems are mine by the way.......stories I hear and share.....same as yourself really...and given I've been contracting for 20 years, I'd say I've got it figured out..... if the useless agents would just get out of the way I'd do so much better !

I am not sure what you are complaining about here, it is the agents job to put people forward for the role. If the client picked someone else, that's how it goes. You can't expect the agent to stop the client seeing other people just because you have interviewed for the role.

Also, at most I do a phone interview and one F2F. If they don't offer me the role at that point I'm not interested. My best roles were ones offered during the first call, people who can't make up their minds are not worth working for, you get no support.

You may be right but a good agent doesn't cannibilse their young by offsetting one top tier candidate against another.

If you are a true AGENT, you represent your client fully and get them the work. You don't waste their time on opportunities that haven't had the due diligence done on them. And especially not so after 3 interviews....that just smacks of disorganisation....

So agency sends 6 CV's and the client wants to interview 3 of them, whats the problem? You don't become No.1 choice anymore than the other 2.
